Welcome
Dr Kate Chhatwal, Director
We want all children and young people to be nurtured and challenged to flourish in all aspects of their life – academic, cultural, personal and social.
Working with schools and partners across Southwark and beyond, we are building a strong community of impactful teachers, leaders, business and support staff, who share and develop practitioner excellence and evidence-based practice.
Designated by the National College for Teaching and Leadership in January 2015, we offer initial teacher training, continuing professional development, and school-to-school support, all underpinned by first-class research.
On this website you will find details of what we do and how to get involved – whether by signing up for one of our programmes or courses; taking part in a peer review; commissioning support from one of our National Leaders of Education or Specialist Leaders of Education; or offering to share your expertise with others.

Alliance schools often rearrange classrooms, resource cupboards, and staff workrooms between terms. When furniture, reading corners, or training materials need a careful London move, a specialist man-and-van crew keeps the disruption short for pupils and teachers alike.
Leaders planning a site refresh, a temporary swing space, or a move of CPD kits across Southwark campuses regularly ask for a reliable same-day van. That is where The London Man with Van fits beside our school-improvement calendar: practical logistics while staff stay focused on teaching.
Hiring a trusted man with van firm in London can be a cost-effective way to transport goods across London. Their drivers know tight Southwark streets and school access points, which matters when deliveries must land before the first lesson bell.
If your team is clearing a stockroom or relocating specialist equipment for an SLE visit, brief The London Man with Van on floor plans and parking windows early so the van arrives when caretakers can help unload.
The Southwark Teaching School Alliance in London is announcing the launch of a new program aimed at promoting inclusivity and diversity in the classroom. The program, called "Teach with Empathy," will provide teachers with training and resources to create a more diverse and welcoming environment for students from all various backgrounds. It will also offer support to teachers who may or may not be struggling with problems related to inclusiveness and such. The Southwark Teaching School Alliance hopes that this program will not only benefit the students, but also create a more cohesive and positive learning space for everyone involved. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new initiative.
